The first simple tip is to take time to reflect and celebrate what is going well in your life. Write all the amazing accomplishments, big and small, that you are proud of achieving in the last six to twelve months. Give yourself another high five!
The next simple tip is to dig deep and think about how you want your life to look and feel in the upcoming six to twelve months. Do you want more balance in your life? Do you want to take an incredible vacation? Do you want to advance your career? What accomplishment would feel amazing to look back on and say, YES! I did it! This simple tip (simple does not equate to easy) is one of the most important steps in setting your goal.
You are super SMART to set a goal! Setting a goal is fun, and will propel you forward to having a more fabulous and fulfilling life.
S - Specific. Be detailed with your goal.
M - Measurable. Check your progress toward your goal so that you know if you’re on track. This will help keep you motivated and focused.
A - Achievable. Your goal needs to be something that you can accomplish with all that you have going on in your life.
R - Relevant. Your goals should align with your core values and long-term objectives.
T - Timebound - Be sure there is a deadline.
Another simple tip to goal setting is to have an accountability partner. Have you ever noticed how much more motivated you are when you have to report your progress to someone else?
Lastly, write down your goal and look at it every single day. Yes, every single day! And imagine what it will feel like once you have reached your goal.
